Faculty Development Programme
A Faculty Development Programme on Effective Communication was organized at the Global Institute of Technology & Management (GITM) on 30 August 2025 in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). The programme was designed to enhance professional communication skills among faculty members in order to improve teaching effectiveness and academic engagement.
The session was conducted by Mr. Vikash, a renowned PDP Trainer, through whom an insightful and interactive presentation on the significance of effective communication in the academic environment was delivered. The roles of verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, clarity of expression, and confidence in classroom delivery were emphasized. Strategies for engaging students, managing classroom interactions, and conveying complex concepts in a simple and impactful manner were also highlighted by the resource person.
Through the use of practical examples, role plays, and real-life scenarios, participants were enabled to reflect on their existing communication practices and identify areas for improvement. Active participation in discussions was demonstrated by faculty members, making the session highly engaging and enriching.
The importance of strong communication skills in fostering a positive learning environment and improving overall teaching outcomes was successfully reinforced through the FDP. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks, and appreciation was expressed by participants for the practical insights gained, which were expected to contribute significantly to their professional development and teaching excellence.
